Giuliana Leon Carrillo (from where) began at WVU in the fall of 2018 to work on her Doctor of Philosophy in Forensic Science. She completed her undergraduate degree of Chemistry-Biology with clinical testing specialization from the University of Sonora in Hermosillo, Mexico. She received a Master of Science in Molecular Biomedicine from the National Polytechnical Institute in Mexico City and her Erasmus Mundus Master of Science in Forensic Science from the University of Lincoln (England), University of Cordoba (Spain), and the Egas Moniz Health Sciences Institute (Portugal). Giuliana's dissertation is: "Statistical and probabilistic analysis of evidence of criminal cases." She is proposing a designed framework to understand and organize evidence with the purpose of learning its relevant evidential value to the main hypotheses.
Why did you choose WVU?
This is one of the two PhD in Forensic Science in the United States.
Why did you choose to work with Dr. Morris?
I liked and wanted an experienced PI with a wide and multidisciplinary background that is always open to acquire more knowledge without limiting himself to a certain area.
